Kat Harrison, MPA, MBA
A self-described “practical idealist”, Ms. Kat Harrison, MPA, MBA, has worked over a decade on the nexus between social good and the private sector. A New Jersey native, Kat was studying abroad at university when she first learned about and fell in love with the opportunity that markets and enterprises offer people to improve their financial circumstances and resilience. Since this experience and graduating from university, Kat has worked for NGOs, both local and international, for investors, and for startup enterprises in such industries as renewable energy and artisan goods. She has managed multi-million dollar projects in both Central America and East Africa, secured over $1M in grant funding and investment for social enterprises, co-written and managed federal grants, and mentored and taught entrepreneurs in a variety of sectors at all stages of their business. On days off, Kat is either salsa dancing, spending precious time with her nieces & nephews, watching the latest indie films, or napping. Kat joins Siera Project Co.’s expert advisory committee due to feeling deeply connected to our mission and vision having experienced abuse in several professional environments.
